A hand crafted "Hoosier cabinet" with punched copper doors and copper bins. I even added a modest modern touch -- the hidden lights shining down on the tins and pins.
A hand crafted fireplace facade.
Book matched cabinet doors. Book matched means that the pieces are mirror image of each other. You can see more of this kitchen in our remodeling photos.
These are simpler plywood cabinets. The doors are made from the wood that was cut out to make the opening and then trimmed in varnished cherry.
I made this piece to test my skill with a router. There are no screws or nails in this piece, all of the joints are either glued tongue and groove or sliding dovetail. The cherry and maple are joined together with curved tongue and groove.
A cherry gun cabinet. The rack holding the guns is curved so that scoped riffles can fit in the middle section and the open sight guns go toward the ends. This was done to get the most guns in the least space and still keep the eye appeal.
This lady really pushed my level for detail. She wouldn't settle for rectangular doors, she had to have hearts in the corners. Those little hearts were tricky to say the least. She did settle for plexi-glass making the glass cutting a little bit easier.
This is my first all American Black Walnut kitchen. I designed the house as well as the kitchen.
The view left of the main view.
The owners liked a staggered look and wanted crown moulding on top. So I made the higher cabinets two inched deeper than the shorter ones to allow room for the moulding on top.of the short cabinets. A feature not found in commercially manufacture cabinets.
I went the extra mile by including a gifts set to go with the kitchen.
A close up of the knife set.
I love the grain in walnut. This kitchen features three Lazy Susans and multiple drawer cabinets to facilitate easy access to pots, pans and gadgets.
I spotted this board right away and saved it for a special highlight cabinet.
This is of my own design. A baking/pizza pan and cookie sheet drawer.
The cabinet next to the top of the refrigerator is designed for the microwave. While framing the house we left an opening in the wall studs for the back of this cabinet to recess into. The microwave part of the cabinet is 16 inches deep while the top of this cabinet is a standard 12 inches deep.
